Women!
(A Tribute to Women's History Month )
We're mothers, daughters, sisters, wives.
We wear many hats in our busy lives.
We're laps, leaning posts, leaders, lifters,
Mediators, comforters, sounding boards, builders.
We're mentors, managers, achievers,
Home-keepers,
Teachers, preachers, history-makers, knowledge-seekers.
We laid firm the foundation
On which many stand.
Reaching up and out
Extending and lending a hand.
We're soft, gentle, tender, and warm,
Yet, firm, tough, sturdy, and strong.
We are women!
God-affirming, life-sustaining,
Self-determined and self-maintaining women!
